Printed electronics (PE) is a newer technology field that uses conductive inks and ink formulations to produce products that are flexible thin-film electronic devices. Typical printing techniques (ink jet, roll-to-roll and gravure) can be used in place of techniques used to produce inflexible silicon based micro-circuits.
The active ingredients are soluble organic or inorganic conductive compounds which are printed in layers and sealed in a flexible covering (plastic or some glasses).
