During the deceleration process, the piston rod is driven into the shock absorber. The hydraulic oil, in front of the piston, is forced through a multitude of metering orifices. The number of metering orifices in action decreases proportionally to the distance travelled through the stroke. The impact velocity is smoothly reduced to zero as it approaches the end of stroke. The internal pressure and also the reaction force, in front of the piston remain essentially constant throughout the complete stroke length. This provides a linear deceleration with the lowest possible strain on the machine. Safety Shock Absorbers During the deceleration process, the piston rod is driven into the shock absorber. The hydraulic oil, in front of the piston, is forced through a multitude of metering orifices. The number of metering orifices in action decreases proportionally to the distance travelled through the stroke. The impact velocity of the moving load is gently reduced! The internal pressure and thus the reaction force remain essentially constant throughout the complete stroke length. The oil, forced back by the piston rod is accumulated by the gas accumulator and the compressed gas provides the return force to reset the rod to its extended position. To separate the hydraulic system from the gas accumulator, a diaphragm is used for the SCS series and a separator piston for the CB series. TUBUS Profile Damper For these damping elements, made out of a special Co-Polyester Elastomer, a change of structure during the production process creates a defined initial load, which ensures that the TUBUS during operation converts the friction force into heat. Thus, a part of the rising energy is absorbed, while the other part is emitted by the resetting of the body to its original position. The unique structure of the body leads to different characteristics. TA-series: Degressive characteristic with max. energy absorption with minimum stroke. Energy absorption: 40 % to 66 % TS-series: Almost linear characteristic with low reaction force over a short operating stroke. Energy absorption: 26 % to 56 %. TR/TR-L/TR-H-series: Progressive characteristic with gradually increasing reaction force over a long stroke. Energy absorption TR: 17 % to 35 % Energy absorption TR-L: 14 % to 26 % Energy absoption TR-H: 39 % to 50 % SLAB Damping Plates ACEs two D and F series offer optimum solutions for the entire range of vibration damping and for effective reduction of resulting structure-borne noise. The PUR material used in Series D is made to a patented formula and has been developed specially to absorb shock loads. Its very high inner damping makes this product an alternative to hydraulic end position damping, if the mass does not have to be stopped in a precise position and the energy does not have to be absorbed 100%. SLAB damping sheets in Series F are used in vibration insulation, e.g. in machine tools and textile machines, hydraulic units or presses and punches, and help to avoid stoppages in the production process and detrimental effects on product quality. Rotary Dampers ACE rotary dampers are filled with a high viscosity fluid - usually silicone. The fluid is passed through an orifice or groove. The damping torque generated depends on the fluid viscosity and the orifice configuration. A constant damping force is rotationally created with Continuous Rotary Dampers. The output connection can be direct on the rotating shaft or linear via gear and rack. At a maximum rotational speed of 50 revs/min and a maximum cycle rate of 10/min, the rotary dampers still have more than 80% of their damping torque after 50,000 cycles. Limited Rotary Dampers have a restricted working angle. They are available with fixed or adjustable damping torque. The adjustment is made with an integrated set screw. In the standard unit the damping is in both directions. Other options available are, clockwise or anticlockwise rotations with free, non damping return. Precision Hydraulic Feed Controls Precision feed controls provide an exact speed control for machine movement. They are self-contained, maintenance-free, leak proof, temperature stable and stick-slip-free with fine adjustment. The proven rolling diaphragm seal provides a hermetically sealed unit and an integral accumulator for the oil displaced during the operation. The high precision adjustable metering system can provide accurate feed rates from as little as 12 mm/min with low propelling forces. The displaced oil volume is forced through the adjustable precision metering orifice, providing a constant and precise feed control throughout the stroke. Hydraulic Speed/Feed Controls DVC-32 In the DVC design, the adjustment controls can be tuned separately for individual forward and return speeds. This adjustment can be carried out when mounted and even during the working stroke. Turning the adjustment knob to the right reduces the speed, to the left increases the speed. Once the adjustment is set, it can be locked by securing a fixing screw. The standard version has two adjustment controls for individually damping the forward and return strokes. Alternatively you can obtain a DVC with only one adjuster for damping in either the forward or return direction, the uncontrolled portion of stroke being free. Hydraulic Dampers HBS-28 to 70 The hydraulic damping cylinders of the HB series are adjusted prior to assembly by turning the piston rod in its end position. The adjustment setting and the corresponding speed remain constant throughout the operation. These damping cylinders are available in four styles: damping, in both directions, in tension, in compression or damping through a fixed non adjustable orifice. Hydraulic Dampers HB-12 to HB-70 The hydraulic damping cylinders of the HB series are adjusted prior to assembly by turning the piston rod in its end position. The adjustment setting and the corresponding speed remain constant throughout the operation. These damping cylinders are available in four styles: damping, in both directions, in tension, in compression or damping through a fixed non adjustable orifice. Industrial Gas Springs These ACE products are self-contained systems, filled with pressurized nitrogen. The filling tolerance is between -20 N and +40 N. The gas spring consistently works in a temperature range from -20°C to +80°C. Hydraulic oil is used for the end damping. On the extension stroke of the gas spring, the nitrogen gas flows through the metering orifice in the piston to provide a defined feed speed. In operation the gas spring acts against the weight force of the lid. When the flap is opened, the nitrogen gas flows through the orifice in the piston and supports the force of the hand. The oil filling provides a gentle damping to rest for the end position. The metering orifice controls the extension and compression velocities. The gas spring can be mounted in any position. We recommend, however, mounting it rod down to use the end position damping. The force can be adjusted by means of an integral valve. Many interchangeable parts are available for an easy mounting and installation
