Test Item (测试项目)
 
 
Static loading test
Sample is loaded with a weight 1.5 times the claimed maximum loading capacity (or 0.5kg/dm 3 if the maximum loading capacity not specified) for its intended use then suspended by its carrying handle/shoulder straps for an hour by a belt with width in 80mm.. Assessment is made for any damage capable of impairing safety or function.
Dynamic loading test (or jerking test)
Sample is loaded with a weight of the claimed maximum loading capacity (or 0.35kg/dm3  if the maximum loading capacity not specified) for its intended use then subjected to N jerking cycles at a frequency of approximately 0.5Hz and an amplitude of 120mm.  Assessment is made for any damage capable of impairing safety or function. Not applicable for the item with test loading is more than 20kg.
Number of jerking cycles:
Main loading bearing handle/shoulder: 2,500 cycles
Extended handle: 250 cycle
Wheel endurance test
EN 13613 clause 6.7 for 32km (Claim from luggage of Samsonite).  Retractable handles on suitcases etc shall be fully extended and positioned at 45O and the suitcase tested at this angle.  Sample is loaded with a weight of the claimed maximum loading capacity (or 0.35kg/dm3  if the maximum loading capacity not specified). The wheels shall not seize or become damaged following the test.  The handle shall not break, crack, distort and shall retract without out any undue force.
Compression strength (for luggage)
Reference: ISTA 2A. Place the sample on floor, apply a vertical distributed stack load of 150kg on the surface for one hour. Test shall be performed on length, width and height directions of main load bearing structure. Assessment is made for any damage capable of impairing safety or function
Zipper durabil(Tested on full luggage) 
Open/close the main zipper for 1500 cycles, other zippers for 500 cycles.  Assessment is made for any damage capable of impairing safety or function.ity
Workmanship
No major defects by visual check; no non-functional sharp point, sharp edge. The bottom frame &
attachments should be smooth without burrs to avoid any marring for the floor.
Conditioning Test on Metal Parts
Sample is conditioned at 54 OC with 95% relative humidity for 24 hours. Observation is made for any damage and apparent change of the sample.
Drop test
Sample is dropped through a height H to an impact medium (use vinyl tiled concrete floor as the
impact medium) for 5 times. Sample is loaded with a weight of the claimed maximum loading capacity
(or 0.35kg/dm3   if the maximum loading capacity not specified) Assessment is made for any sharp points/sharp edges/cracks/damage.  Fastening devices (locks etc) must remain functional.

Lock system durability
Open/close the lock for 2000 cycles, assessment is made for any damage capable of impairing safety or function.
Durability for telescope sliding handle
Unlock the handle and pull to top auto-lock position, and unlock it back to the bottom auto-lock position. Repeat for 1500 cycles.  Assessment is made for any damage capable of impairing safety or function.
Stability
Sample is loaded with a weight of the claimed maximum loading capacity (or 0.35kg/dm3  if the maximum loading capacity not specified) The luggage shall be stable when loaded evenly.
Impact test for extended handle
Sample  is  loaded  with  a  weight  of  the  claimed  maximum  loading  capacity  (or  0.35kg/d  m3   if  the maximum  loading  capacity  not  specified).  Place  on  the  concrete  floor  vertically  with  the  extended handle at the upmost position. Tip it over by pushing the luggage slowly past it centre of balance to impact the extended handle for 50 times. There shall be no any damage capable of impairing safety or function.
Bottom foot, attachments strength
Apply a force F in horizontal direction for the bottom attachments in 5 seconds and maintain for 10 seconds, there shall be no any damage capable of impairing safety or function. (F is the weight of luggage  adding  the  specified  maximum  capacity  loading  or  0.35kg/d  m3   if  the  maximum  loading capacity not specified)
