 四甲-基环四硅-氧烷相对于线形聚甲基氢硅-氧烷来讲，杂质少，纯度高，链节固定，易于改性分子的设计，可用于制备各种特定含氢量和所需链节数的甲基氢硅氧烷及改性硅氧烷。如：用于制备高含氢量的含氢硅油；制备高温*化硅橡胶、加成型液体硅橡胶的交联剂；合成侧链聚硅氧烷液晶高分子，及各种高品质的侧链改性硅油。如：长链烷基硅油；聚醚硅油；环氧硅油；羧基硅油；氨-基硅油等。 
还是光电材料的优良浸渍剂。
